摘　　要： 高等教育扩展是一个国家或地区经济发展的必然要求。从经济发展的水平和人才存量上看,当前我国高等教育的规模是偏小的。研究表明,高等教育对于经济增长的促进作用主要表现在长期,对短期内经济的拉动作用不明显,但由于高等教育的社会需求强烈,扩大高等教育的规模仍不失为促进短期经济增长的一个选择。同时,我国高等教育的扩展在经济增长这个目标之外,还应有较为全面的考虑。从发展现状来看,我国高等教育的扩展应走内涵式的发展道路,同时要注意高等教育内部各层次的协调发展、教育机会的均等以及就业相关政策的调整等。 The economy development of a eountry or an area naturally brings about the development of higher education.In view of economy development and talent reserves China's higher education is of no large scale.Higher education,though, according to some researches,helps economic growth not over a short period of time but a long one,enlargement of higher education in China is one of the alternatives for the short-term economic development as people's demand for receiving high- er education is becoming stronger.Besides economic development other factors should be taken into consideration as far as higher education is concerned.China's higher education should be focused on the development of the present colleges and universities while limiting the establishment of new ones,on the development of different levels of colleges and universities, on the people's equal chance to get educated and on the adjustment of relevant policies.
