摘　　要： 通常认为湘西乡话中保留了不少现代方言中不常见的上古音特点,包括古知组读如端组。本文进一步讨论湘西乡话中古知组读如端组的类型和性质,认为知组二、三等今读有别,而知组三等读如端组才是该群方言的本质特点,这与典型保留"古无舌上音"的大部分闽语不同,但与其他一些方言的今读类型相同或者相关。 It is generally acknowledged that the Xianghua(lit.countryside vernacular) in Western Hunan reserves considerable amount of features of the archaic Chinese phonology,which is less common in modern dialects,as is exemplified by the phenomenon of the ancient zhi group pronounced as duan group.This paper aims to further the elaboration of the types and properties of this phenomenon attested in Xianghua in Western Hunan,and concludes that level 2 and level 3 of the zhi group pronounce differently in the present time,and only level 3 pronounced as duan group remains the essential feature of this group of dialects,which differs from those of most of the Min dialects typically reserving the 'lack of alveolar sounds in ancient Chinese',and meanwhile,is identical with,or relative to,the present pronouncing types of some other dialects.
